My child struggles to stay organized

Does your child have trouble following directions? Is it hard for them to get ready for school in the morning? Are they often leaving personal items at school?

We can help school aged children with their listening comprehension, memory, and organization.  Structure and routine help.  Try these tricks:

  • A visual schedule can be utilized to help the child know what event is coming next. The child can check off activities as they are completed. Try this for their morning routine

  • A picture checklist can be placed next to their locker to help them remember which items need to be packed at the end of the day.

  • A weekly clean out of their desk or locker may help with organization.  If teacher support can be provided it may be beneficial.
