Feeding Toddlers
Top Tips for Feeding Toddlers:
1. Eat at the table as a family when possible.
2. Offer different foods. Remember, it can take you child anywhere from 10-100 tastes to accept a new food. Include at least one preferred food so they feel comfortable.
3. Describe the taste, texture, and temperature of the food. Wow- that broccoli is green and crunchy. It tastes salty. It feels warm on my tongue. I'm going to crunch it with my teeth.
4. Consider leaving a bowl on the table that your child can place foods in when your child is finished. This gives them some control and also provides opportunities for them to interact with the novel food even just by placing it in the bowl.
5. Keep mealtimes positive! Your child can see when you are frustrated.
