What to expect in speech language therapy?

Every speech language therapy session looks different because it is tailored to meet the needs of the individual. There are a few things that I believe are critical in speech or feeding therapy sessions.

Caregiver collaboration is instrumental to good progress. Caregivers are involved in goal setting and determining the best home program. The goals and home program have to align with the client, their family, and their lifestyle.

Therapy should be fun. Don’t get me wrong- we do a lot of practice. But most of us tend to learn better when we are engaged and having fun.

Movement is incorporated into therapy! Movement can improve our attention and ability to learn.

All therapy plans are supported by current research and clinical experiences to give you the best outcomes.
